We are closely linked with the Bristol Healthy Schools programme. We aim to encourage students in schools to take part in growing healthy food, preparing it, tasting it then making it part of their lives.

The Eat-a-Metre project provides opportunities for schools taking part in the Food for Life programme to fulfil requirements in the Food education and Food culture and community involvement sections of their Bronze, Silver and Gold award scheme.

The Eat-a-Metre project opens up a range of curriculum opportunities. The project can be accessed by all ages and abilities. There is a particular focus on Numeracy, Literacy, Science, ICT, Geography and PSHE, but imaginative teachers will see the range of possibilities for many more curriculum areas.

Eat-a-Metre project supports organic methods of cultivation although we realise that it may not be possible for all schools to follow rigidly. Our seeds are sourced from Tamar Organics.
