Instructions for using the Eat-a-Metre Database

Initial Registration of your school

Having decided to take part in the project, please follow the following instructions for registration of your school on the Eat-a-Metre database. Your school needs to register before trying to access using the postcode.

  1. Use this link to go straight to the registration area Eat-A-Metre Registration
  2. Register the school and contact details. You will be the administrator for your school so please make a note of your username and password. Entries with a red asterisk need to be completed.
  3. Once you have completed the form, click on the Register button at the bottom of the page. An email will be sent to you with an activation link. You are almost ready to go.
  4. When you have received and activated your registration, you will be able to get into the teacher area. The site automatically defaults to the student login screen so you will need to either click on the 'Teachers' tab or click on this link Eat-A-Metre

    Click on the 'Teachers' tab

  5. You will now see the following screen which will allow you to set up groups

Click on the 'Groups' tab to set up groups

  6. Please set up as many different groups as you wish. All groups will use the same postcode to login. They then need to select the school name, group name and group password. (I suggest keeping the password simple, perhaps a class name). See example below.

The Students' login page is the default login page.

  7. You are now ready to enter data. – Hooray!

  11. Once your data has been collected and input, please remember to save. The data can be updated during the week and graphs produced for the results. These graphs can then be printed out. It is worth looking at the graphs to check for any major inconsistencies which might have occurred due to errors in data input. If you wish to have separate copies of the data collection sheets, please contact us.
